There is no multiple listing service in the UK. Each
estate agent (and there are many) shows their own listings.
Landlords may list their
properties with more than one estate agent but not reveal to any of
them who the other agents are.
UK tenancy agreements
are generally very lengthy and heavily weighted in favour of the landlord.
UKRS have our own tenancy agreement that we encourage landlords to
use. Alternatively, our contracts department will amend landlords
agreements to suit the tenants needs.
Laws and customs governing
the exchange of property are different. Oral contracts are not binding.
A landlord may accept your offer and change his mind, if he later
receives another more favourable offer. It is important to move documentation
quickly once you have chosen a house or flat.
There are a vast number
of competing utilities suppliers who are not logically split into
geographical regions. We will establish who the current supplier
for your new home and set up utility accounts in your name, before
you move in.
Many landlords will
be willing to negotiate the rental price of the property from the
value advertised. We will negotiate the best monthly rental, terms
and your additional requests.
